No startmenu folder in Windows 7 for Irfanview 4.28 ?

Hi all,

I succesfully distributed IrfanView silently with SCCM 2007 by using the following switches:

/desktop=1
/thumbs=0
/group=1
/assocallusers=1
/assoc=1
/silent

Although the /group=1 switch should show a startmenu entry for IrfanView after the installation there is none.
Does anybody know whether this switch isn't valid anymore or had been renamed or doesn't it simply work anymore when being used with Windows 7 ?

/group=1 should create a short cut on start menu.

Have a look at this forum , might be useful for you. http://www.appdeploy.com/packages/detail.asp?id=1017

Hi !

Unfortunately this doesn't work.
Irfan Skiljan personally provided me with an extra installer which brings up a pop up when the start menu folder is being created.
Strangely enough this pop up appears, but no folder is created which seems to be a problem with Windows 7 and SCCM.
Although my SCCM account has administrative rights on the machines and is able to install any kind of software including Irfan View, the start menu folder is the only part which doesn't work.
Irfan Skiljan says that it is a rights problem with the used user account for installation purposes.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
