Hi,

I have created a MSI which self-repairs when a registry entry does not exist in HKCU. This is working fine, however, I'd also like a self-repair to run when a file is missing from a network drive. Any ideas on how I go about this considering that the MSI is deployed by SCCM (system context) so any references to that network share during installation will not exist.

Basically I want the repair to run if a particular file is accidentally deleted by the user on the network share.

Thanks

  • You partially answered it: "... MSI is deployed by SCCM (system context) so any references to that network share during installation will not exist."

Grant them read-only in that network share so that they cannot accidentally delete files.
  • Yeh, I was going to say set up the network share with the correct permissions so they can not delete the file by accident.

You cannot trigger self heal for network files. Self heal happens only when any of the keypath is missing.
