  • Hi,

if you are sure that this step (closing applications) is not needed you may try with disabled Restart Manager - MSIRESTARTMANAGERCONTROL=Disable.
This prompt shows up when MSI detects that file is locked by some application.

You can read sth more about it on:

  • Have you examined a verbose MSI installation log? - EdT 9 years ago
  • does it sound like an expected issue??? is your app working with other apps, if so it is fair enough for the handy dialogue requesting that apps are closed. - Badger 9 years ago

What kind of Setup was it? If it was a legacy application that uses NON-Embedded MSI's then capturing is ok. However, there might be alot to cleanup with your MSI so that its not trying to write to in-use files. Which is probably why your being prompted to close running apps.
