MSDE2000A via AD/GPO

I'm trying to deploy SqlRun01.msi via AD/GPO. Got this message: Product: Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine -- A strong SA password is required for security reasons. Please use SAPWD switch to supply the same. Refer to readme for more details. Setup will now exit.

Looked at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;810826

I tried, via IAStudio 6, to create transform that contains SAPWD=something;DISABLENETWORKPROTOCOLS=1 and adjusted the GPO to include transform. No luck.

Next I tried to 'stab' Property Table directly and added SAPWD & DISABLENETWORKPROTOCOLS there. Still no luck.

Good ideas are welcome.

Did you meet the strong password requirements? Try a longer more complex password if you think you might not have.

You can add an entry to the Property table by using a Windows Installer database editing tool such as Orca.exe to assign specific internal properties used in the SQL Server 2000 SP3 MSDE merge modules to a specific value.

but I used External Properties to modify Property table when Internal Properties are the right ones. So:

SqlSaPwd
SqlDisableNetworkProtocols
