Modifing file extensions?
Is there a way in VBScript of batch to to reset the associated application to a file extension?

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking... I understood the question as can you associate an application with a given file extension using a batch file or a vbscript.
Batch: see "assoc" and "ftype".
VBScript: see "Wscript.Shell" and "Regwrite".
