do a search for Aaron Stebner and Visual Studio's..

he is the king of VSS / VS and TFS automation. Is an MS app so hardly see it using an ISS file. It has its own packaging tool built in.

I think

setup /admin
setup /createtransform should do it, cant recall of the top of my head

John, it still shocks me how many MS apps don't use Windows Installer. There's a lot of inertia in some product divisions. And just a quick correction, Visual Studio includes a crippled version of one of the Wise products (Wise Installer for Windows, is it?), disguised beneath the 'Package and Deployment Wizard', while to my knowledge, Visual Source Safe has no packaging tools bundled with it.

yeah correct vss doesnt have a tool that i am aware of. its an old vb6 app.

I merely mentioned Aaron Stebner is knowledgable on all the VSS / TFS type products hes like a platform specialist from MS.

As for Visual Studio I thought it was a full blown msi. Not that I paid alot of attention however, I know the 2008 is definately an msi.
