Microsoft SQL 2005 Server Express Edition MSI
Has anyone successfully repackaged Microsoft SQL 2005 Server Express Edition into a straight msi? Or does anyone know if it is possible? We are trying to deploy this with QMS NVivo 7 and need to change the path for the shortcuts in the start menu, as well as having the package distributable with sms when we have it implemented. Which leads to the next question of: Can SMS deploy install script executables as well as .MSIs.

Did you ever manage to get Microsoft SQL 2005 Server Express Edition to deploy automatically? We are trying to do the same thing here.

No, I stopped messing with it. It was decided that since the software was only going in one lab it would be installed by hand. I never messed with it after that.
