Microsoft patches/updates repository branch office

Hi all,

I am an absolute beginner in KACE, as my colleague is the guy who looks after the system.

Basically we deploy Microsoft patches using Kace to English client machines (XP & 7).

We are now taking over a branch office in Spain and need to setup some sort of patching repository (XP & 7 in Spanish).

The branch office connects back to us via VPN.

My question is:

How do I setup a repo (dedicated XP machine) to pull Microsoft patches/updates in Spanish only using our Kace based in UK?

Help is very much appreciated

You would have to download the Spanish patches to your KBOX.  Then set up a replication share in Spain.

In the replication share setup, there is an option to limit the patches downloaded by language, select Spanish only and you should be good to go.

One thing to keep in mind though: If you use a XP machine, you will be limited by the number of concurrent connections it can handle. For more information: http://www.kace.com/support/resources/kb/article/Creating-Replication-Shares-Recommended-OSs

Replication setup is covered on p. 148 in the admin guide: http://www.kace.com/support/resources/~/media/Files/Support/Resources/Documentation/K1000-Admin-Guide-v53.ashx

Take a look at these sites. There's a ton of knowledge here.
