Hi,

I have a question, how can I switch a component in a merge module?

What do you mean by "switch"? Do you want to replace it?

Sorry, my question wasn't clear enough! Yes, I want to replace a component with another one in a merge module.

In that case, you need to build a new module. What authoring tool are you using? Wise makes this process fairly straightforward:

- copy the MSM so that you have a fall-back
- open the MSM
- save as a WSM
- open the WSM
- check the source locations in the WiseSourcePath table
- copy the original file(s) so that you have a fall-back (did I mention my other nickname, Dr Paranoia?)
- re-compile
- test

I can't recall if InstallShield has a similar facility and I can't check, as my IS-enabled VM is temporarily out of action. Maybe a regular IS user can confirm...

It worked!

Thanks a lot, VBScab! You saved my day

PS! I use WPS 7.0 SP3
