Mass fix Category on closed tickets

I am going through my teams tickets and a good 25% are categorized as "Other".  I know I can't directly connect to the MySQL tables, but is there a way I can fix this without having to open and close nearly 1000 tickets?

I have an Excel export with my corrections.

You can use a ticket rule to update the tickets. If you know MySQL then you should be able to craft an update query that will change the category_id on the tickets that need to be updated. You can access the database in a readonly mode with the reporting user using a tool like MySQL Workbench.

  • Excellent.. Do you know if this will reopen tickets as well or sends updates to the submitters?

    I would like to do this without a bunch of emails going out.
