I am trying to deploy an application in msi format.

1. need to specify "everyone" as it defaults to Just Me
2. if possible check for visual C++ for example and install that first if not there before installing primary application.

  • Thanks for the reply. I just mean if i have an app that depends on .net or whatever can i bundle these two into one managed install and have .net or whatever install first? Thanks again
  • Technically you can do that, but it's not a recommended practice. Manage the installs separately and you'll be able to manage your environment much easier in the future.

Use the command below, just change it to what you need.

msiexec /i NameOfYour.msi /qn ALLUSERS=1 /l*vx .\NameofLogFile.log

There's a bazillion versions of C++, but you should identify which one this app needs and install it as a dependency, removing the need to add any logic to check for its existance.
