Mac Freeze Lockup with Java 7 update 21 patch

KACE1000 deployed the Java 7u21 patch to my Mac today, but on try 1, the machine froze with no dialog and try 2, succeeded (apparently, after checking post lockup version) but also locked up the machine. I don't experience freezes or lock ups with this machine, so this seems very unusual. It was likely locked up for over an hour (left the room with screen saver up, came back blank screen, fans whirring, keyboard and trackpad unresponsive - 2011 Macbook Pro with 8Gb RAM).

Did anyone else have similar issues with this patch?

I haven't tried to use that Java patch yet, but here's what I would suggest to do:

1. Disable any schedules that include this patch.

2. Go to one of the following locations and delete any patching task for the system that's locked up:

Settings>Support>Troubleshooting Tools>tasks

or if you have organizations enabled:

System>K1000 Settings>Support>Troubleshooting Tools>tasks

To delete them, use the "View By" drop down to filter by patching.  Find any that belong to that machine and delete them.

3. Restart the affected system.

4. Enable debug: http://www.kace.com/support/resources/kb/article/how-to-enable-debug-logs-on-the-kace-k1000-client-kbox-client-deployment

5. Re-enable the patch schedule and deploy to that system again.

If it repeats the freezing, gather the logs and open a KACE support ticket.
