Louts Notes 7.0.3
Hello All,
This is my first post and need some assistance in making some changes to the Lotus Notes Client install. Let me get you up to speed on my delima. I would like to change the shortcut that is created to point to a different location. Listed below are the orginal changes on manual install and I would like to make the same change through a MSI. Please help me shed some light on this issue.
Target type: Application
Target location: Notes65
Target: C:\Notes65\notes.exe [New install path is C:\Notes7\Notes.exe]
Start in: M:\Notes65 [Add this to the shortcut]
Shortcut key: None
Run: Normal window
Comment:
Here is the table shortcut information but I do not know how to make the changes
Shortcut Details - Advertised
Name: Notes
Target File: 5583_notes.exe
Dest. Directory: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\LotusApplications
Arguments: "[INIPARAM]" I do not find any INI information that this calls to or do I not understand this?
Description:
Working Directory: C:\Notes7 _
Show Window: Normal I
Component: ClientProgramFiles I
Thanks

Hi Trugar,
First let readers j=known which tool you are using for packaging are you using WISE or Installshield or You want to do changes through ORCA.Also Let me known you want an Advertise shortcut or non-advertise shortcut. If you want Advertise shortcut then your TARGET should not be the exe path but it should be the feature name in which the component for the shortcut is.And if it is a non=advertise shortcut it will have exe path as the target.

Thanks for the response, to answer your question I am using the MSI studio from Scriptlogic. So far I have ran through the MST and have successfully installed Notes 7.0.3 to the C:\ but would like the shortcut to point the the network location I mentioned (M:\Notes7\Data) since this is were we have the notes.ini and data files reside. (Tried to get this to be part of the custom MST but fails everytime)Because of this I am installing in C:\Lotus7.0.3 and program files to C:\Notes7 and then need to figure a way to move the Notes7\Data folder to the network location other than manual copy to the location. This way when the clients click on the notes icon there notes.ini will be found at M:\Notes7\Data and load the users mail file from any machine currently connected to the network. So I think that I would want this to be advertised but I do not know. Any help would be great.
