Looking voor .MST editor

I am looking for a standalone .MST editor. Something like the Microsoft MST File Viewer, but with the capabilities to edit.

Why? I am using Wise studio 4.6 and find it to much work to look over the diff of a MSI and MST. I want to see in one view what properties has been altered compared to the MSI.

Does someone knows such a program?

Orca is what I(and nearly every packager I've worked with) use to edit MSTs sometimes.

It's basic but it gets the job done quickly. It doesn't provide you with the GUI Wise or IS might, but just the tables of your MSI/MST.

You'll get it with the Windows Installer SDK, AFAIK.

...or as a solution to your current issue, you could just use the Visual MSIDiff function provided with Wise. I'm not sure if its in your version, but if it is it'll be under the Tools tab.

Yup. You want Microsoft's free ORCA utility in the Windows Installer SDK. It's as basic & raw as you get, it's a bit ominously raw at first but you'll find it essential at times. Its my primary tool for validation.

I'll gave ORCA a try. I am indeed looking for some sleek GUI tool instead of the Visual Diff incorparated within Wise Studio.

Weeeell... It is a GUI tool, but there are no sleek graphics or other bells/whistles. Just MSI database tables and records that you can validate and edit.

Consider Wise Studio your Lincoln Navigator, that you use for ease & comfort, and Orca your Willy's Jeep, that simply and directly gets the job done.

Yeah I hate the Visual Diff output. One thing I noticed is that am using WPS 4.62 and it is giving me false reports. Oh what I would do for current technology.
