I am running a 30-day evaluation of a K1000 box with orgs functionality enabled. Attempting to deploy the agent, but the agent install is missing from the "\client" and "\client_drop" folder shares, do I need to download and place the agent in those shares from somewhere else or should it be populated automatically?

Did you go to Settings>Security Settings> Enable file sharing? Then set password.

It's been a while since I've had a trial, but I'm pretty sure you have to turn this on.

  • Sorry just read you had orgs. Under system K1000 settings>Control Panel>Security Settings> Enable Org file shares. This should cause a reboot.

The trial does not allow an agent bundle to be applied.  Only the agent versions included in the trial OVF download are available.  Enabling SAMBA sharing is a likely explanation.  Is your trial missing agent installers in the /client share?

That said, you need to download the agent .bin file and upload it to the KBOX.

Assuming your K1000 is at 5.3.53053, the agent version is 5.3.53177.

Latest Agent version: http://downloads.kace.com/support/customer/release/K1000/5.3.53177/k1000_agents_5.3.53177.kbin

Settings>K1000 Agent>Agent Updates from KACE>Upload K1000 Agent Update Files

  • I don't think you can download as a trial.
  • Trial support should be able to provide temporary credentials so that he can.
    • It's been a while since I've had a trial. I don't remember having credentials until we actually purchased. I guess things change though.
