Link K1000 helpdesk queue to Sharepoint 2010

We have a Sharepoint 2010 farm and I would like to link information from our K1000 to Sharepoint.  I am having a hard time creating the link from the K1000 MySQL box over to SP.  My end goals are:

  1. Display the current queue with select columns to allow users to see where their ticket is in the queue.
  2. Create a dashboard based on the open and closed tickets so we can show statistics to management

I have been able to successfully create a Linked sever to the K1000 on the MS SQL back end and create a view, but it seems like the steps I am taking are long and complicated.  Is there any webparts or something out there that will easily display data from a MySQL database onto Sharepoint?
