Ldap - syncing with distribution groups

Hi there,

Our KACE applicance is currently using the local authentication but we are trying to work toward getting the LDAP syncing configured.  We have four External LDAP server authentication groups setup which will pull users from different distbribution groups in our AD.  Two of the groups in AD are Domain Local distribution groups and the other two are Global.

Is there a difference between the two (Domain Local vs Global) as far as how KACE interacts with the syncing etc?  Or is it all the same across the board?

Thank you!

  • There shouldn't be any difference as the KBOX is looking for that user to be in that group. If found, they give it the specified Role in the KBOX based on the configuration. - nshah 10 years ago
