Label Management and Manged Install

Hi

I"m trying to upgrade a piece of software to about the half the company for out of date software

I used the software menu to add the old software to a Label.

I thenĀ  want to use that label to either run a script against or use managed installation.

the problem is that the label name doesn't show up when I try and select the associated label.

I can see the label in my labels list.

Thanks

David

there are many label types.
Your label is a software label.
The label you need is a device label, since you want to point to a group of devices.

So to follow on from Nico's answer, create a Device smart label that adds any device when it has the software installed that you wish to replace.

You can then use that smart label as the target for your Managed installation or script.

Hi,

if it helps: I have a video here on the topic of script distribution / software distribution and smart labels: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4t85glD8f8&list=PLgYTd3JpUdjHUR0fEZhhzQ0uZyc2340-y&index=1

I speak in German in the video, but the video has subtitles that I created manually, which you can have YouTube translate. And in the article https://duesiblog.de/archives/1585-Quest-KACE-Smart-Labels-for-Managed-Installation.html the text below is also in English.

Many greetings
