I have issue with this exe KSWMeterSvc in many machines, consumes huge amount of RAM,
if I disable this service KSWMeterSvc, whats the impact? would it stop updating the software inventory?

The KSWMeterSvc is used for monitoring software usage. If you aren't metering software then you can disable it.

  • Thanks Chuck, why is that in few machines I dont see this KSWMeterSvc service in services..if i get this issue I disable this service and few machines i dont see this service
    • Machines will only start the service if they have a label applied which specifies metering is enabled. In Label Management you can sort by the metering icon (blue dial) to see which labels enable metering. Also, machines in the Devices Inventory machines with a blue icon have metering enabled and a grey icon indicates otherwise.
