Does anyone know what this 'watchdog.exe' process is that was installed on my clients by KACE? At least I hope it's installed by KACE.

Just in case anybody else is ever wondering this, I've received a response from support about the watchdog.exe process:

Watchdog.exe watches to make sure the other KBOX services stay running on the system.

The following is from one of our KB articles:

"There should be three processes running (as shown in the process list of task manager): KBOXSMMPService.exe and KBOXUserExtension.exe and watchdog.exe All should be running under the SYSTEM account except watchdog.exe which runs under EACH user context."

All three are part of a healthy, functional agent environment.

It is an application used by perhaps your IT Dept. to track assets: it is part of the Dell Kace system. it is always running on the background, in my side it is used as inventory.
hope this helps.
