K3000 - How I can find the physical appliance's MAC address?

Dell customer support needs the MAC address of my appliance but I have no physical access on the device, as it is in the other side of the Atlantic. But I can reach the console remotely.

Please advice.

Thank you!

If it's a virtual machine then you can see the MAC address when viewing the details of the virtual NIC on the VM. If it's a physical machine, then open a command prompt and ping the IP address of the K3000, then run "arp -a" and you'll see the MAC address listed next to the K3's IP address. Depending on a few networking factors, you may want to consult your local network engineer for help.

  • Hello mpace and thanks for the response. This is a physical machine and I followed your advice but I only get (after the arp -a) results from my local network (the server is in a different subnet ). - elvenil 10 years ago
