K2000 and securely wiping a drive

Hi,

Has anyone used the k2000 to wipe a system before disposing of it? I'm thinking something like a dban boot and nuke available via as a pre task? I'm interested in any methods.

Thanks,

Mike

I used the KBE manipulator and uploaded an ISO of DBAN. Works really well. :)

  • How were you able to do that? - londeaux 10 years ago
    • Download KBEM from here:http://www.itninja.com/blog/view/k2000-kbe-manipulator
Then upload the ISO of DBAN using the utility. Once the upload completes you will see DBAN as an option on the PXE Boot Manager screen. - mpace 10 years ago

I created a deployment/preinstall task to do this.

the /p option is the important part, you may want to make that number higher depending on the info that was on the drives.

I know this is old, but I just posted a how-to for using Darik's Boot and Nuke to automatically wipe all hard drives as a KBE.

Hope this helps!
