K1000 script for making display sleep

I'm rather new to both the K1000 and scripting -- what's the best way to remotely have a certain computer shut off its display (not lock) and then wake it back up at predetermined times?

I found this an interesting question; so this is what I found:

There is a out-dated program here, called PowerOff 3.0.1.3.
It comes with source! But because you are new to scripting, I asume coding is totally out of the question :-)

So try this article, then instead of having a shortcut from where the program executes.
You can have KACE execute it or a task set in task sequencer.

  • Thanks for the reply. This works great for turning the monitor off, but it also has the side effect of locking it. Any idea how to prevent that? It's Windows 8.1, if that helps. - sradley 9 years ago
  • I figured it out, it was a local setting. Thanks very much for your help! - sradley 9 years ago
