Issues with Adobe Flash ESR

Anyone having issues patching the Extended Service Release of Flash?

It almost never patches in our test environment.

  • Just thought I'd update this thread.

    So far everything seems to be working. It just started working. But it started work at version 18. Keep in mind that the problem started at version 13.

    My guess is that there was a problem with the patch.

Flash is a tediously simple app, comprising 4 files and minimal registry junk. It is the work of moments to overwrite these files. If the package you have is failing, it'd probably be quicker to create one of your own as an MSI or even as a script.

As to why it's failing, have you logged the installation? Do your target machines have Flash running at installation time?

  • Thanks for the feedback VBScab.
    However, this makes patching a manual process. We are working on making it an automated process that requires less administrative overhead.
