check eventvwr and see if there's anything there.
try removing it using msiexec /x {guid}

strange. maybe there's a pending reboot from the install? maybe the uninstall string is wrong? also did you set LIMITUI? I've seen cases where unintstalls were reliant on a full UI.

The BO MSI is another vendor joke.

One can create a response transform and apply it, only for the Custom Action 'boValidateFeatureStates' to come along and change ALL the properties which the transform contains (used to select features) from 'selected' to 'hidden'. This results in the files being installed but no shortcuts, amongst other oddities! This kind of nonsense amuses me no end. I can understand vendors wanting to ensure that their product gets installed 'properly' but the brain-dead way they go about it sometimes defies belief.

Anyway, PM me if you'd like the latest iteration of the transform I've built for my current client (it's literally only hours old and it seems - so far - to exactly emulate the same install one would get if one selected a 'Desktop' install) and I'll post it to SendUit.

I forgot the other CA (SetLanguageProperties) which screws with properties, specifically the INSTALL_xx ones where 'xx' is the two-letter abbreviation for the default language selected for installation. For both CAs, I added my usual impossible-to-meet condition i.e. 0=1 to stop them running under any circumstance.

I have fixed it another way. I have removed the registry key "transform" from HKLM- currentversion-installer-productcode of BO. I wrote a CA for it. Its working fine now. Thanks for your help guys

I really can't see how removing that value enables you to uninstall properly but...whatever...
