Is there a way to detect a specific process running on a computer being patched, and suspend a reboot if the process is detected?

I need to prevent computer reboots while running a patch schedule if specific executables are running on the target computer.

Patching has no way of detecting what processes are running. Scritping can but those can't be tied together as dependents. Your best bet might be to not do a reboot for your detect and deploy schedule and at a later time use the scripting engine to check if those processes are running, if they are don't force a reboot. If they aren't do the reboot.

Patching happens at 8pm and runs until 10pm

Scrpting checks at 10:30pm for those processes and acts accordingly
