A user wants to auto-populate a field on a KACE ticket when a category selection is made. Will it require a script?

Yes you should be able to build this using the ticket rule wizard. Put simply you say ....when the Category is equal to <required value> then set the custom field to <Required value>. You can then run that on ticket save. You may also like to give consideration to the wizard to make it more specific i.e. add in when the ticket is not closed or whichever other variables work
