iMac will not Netboot

I am working with 3 iMacs, Mid 2014 and I cannot get any of the to Netboot so that I can Image them. They are all running 10.9.4 and I built the KBE using the newest download of Mavericks.

I have tried holding down N and using the bless command. Neither get me anywhere.

Has anyone else run into this issue? If so, how did you fix it?

  • Have you tried Option+N? Or just Option? Sometimes I have to do that for imaging because I have 2 net boot servers on my subnet, AST server and Imaging server. - WWU_Josh 9 years ago
    • I have tried both with no luck. When I move the Mac to the same Subnet, Opt+N works. After the Kbox loads and I start the imaging it locks up after about 10 min and will not do anything. I tried the same image on an older mac and it works fine. - NateBoss 9 years ago
  • try building a NBI on the model you wish to netboot and insure the OS on that machine is the same as the OS in the dmg you are using to create the NBI. - genfoch01 9 years ago
  • also note netbooting across a subnet is not supported by the K2000. Some folks have had good luck using various workarounds but Kace best practice is to use an RSA. - genfoch01 9 years ago

Try holding the option key on start up.  When running 10.10.2 I can choose my hard drive or K2000 NetBoot.
