Can someone please tell me how to disable the Windows Update tab under tools in IE8? I am trying to disable this so the users can't update windows. Please share your thoughts on this

I'm not sure that you can disable menus in IE. Why not block the site? You could do that on a group/user basis, meaning that you could selectively allow it.

thanks VB. Do you also know if i can write a log file for the custom .exe that i created with IEAK tool kit? it only support /q /t command there is nothing for a log file

I finally find a solution thanks to my buddy Blaze aka GPO Guru :)

This can be resolved by Enabling

"User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Start Menu and Taskbar/Remove links and access to Windows Update"
