I need to be able to modify registry keys with a system account from a currently logged on user acco

(For deployment purposes)
But when I use the tool startasuser.exe from landesk, I get the ERROR_NOT_LOGGED_ON (1245) error when use it on a computer where a regular user is logged on.

Do you know any alternative methods /tools ?

I need to impliment this in an wise wrapper or msi.[/align]

I presume you mean that you need to modify some data in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER hive, right? In that case, you might want to explore using Active Setup.

msi is designed to handle the elevation issues you need.

creating a basic msi with the registry requirements you have should suffice, as long as you don't mess with CA's you should have no issues with elevation.

incorrectly using CA's is the quickest way to get an msi to fail to elevate successfully.
