I need some direction

Where can/should I begin to learn how to script? I can read code and understand what's happening within the code. I just have no idea how and where to start so I can become skilled and proficient.

Thanks in advance for any help that is given.

google groups are a good place to get samples. Microsoft script center (scriptomatic, scripting guys) is also a rich source of information.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
