I feel like this question is very basic, but I cannot find the answer. What is the difference between a Text field and a Notes field in an asset?

Is there a listing somewhere of the field types and their properties and best uses? I noticed that using a Multiple Select field results in duplicate lines for the same asset in reports. You get one line for each value of the multiple select. I am creating some new asset types and would like to design better functionality for reporting in to them.

From what I remember...
Notes uses the varchar(255) type which stores the data in the row. Text stores just the pointer to the data in the row.
Also Notes are limited to 255 bytes in KACE while Text is limited 65,535
