How to Know What DB Field to Select to Get The Info I Need in a Search/Report/etc?
When I look into the "Device Detail" of a device, say, a computer named BEB-208-01, I see under the "Software" / "Installed Programs" category a bunch of software that I understand to have been found on the computer (I've never had adequately explained to my understanding the difference between "Installed Programs" and "Discovered Software"). Let's say one of these apps is "Firefox v. 3001".
When I go to make a Smart Label or something similar, and I'm choosing criteria to search on, how do i know what field from the first pull-down list corresponds to "Firefox v. 3001"? Is it "Software Titles"? "Software Names"? Something else? With enough trial-and-error, I can usually figure it out, but that's not very efficient. Knowing what DataBase names contain what data would help a lot.
Thanks!

Back in version 5 of the K1000 (pre-Dell), support had a nice document with the DB schema all laid out. I've provided copies of that document to support within the last year or two and asked for an updated copy. Both times I asked, I was told there no longer exists a document like that.
You may be best off connecting MySQL workbench to the appliance and using that to drill down into the data.

I like this write-up you did on connecting MySQL Workbench:

Check the appendix, for something like Database tables names.
If you are not in 8.0 look for the admins guide matching your version, since the database suffer changes between versions. - Channeler 6 years ago
