How to handle an MSI which have shortcut that installs drivers?

Hi,

I've an MSI with 2 shortcuts. When I lunch the first shortcut named "Flex ID Dongle Driver" an installation of "Flex ID Dongle Drivers" begins. This will update the drivers(oem files)

I heard that we are not supposed to keep an exe in our package which installs an application.

How I need to handle that shortcut?

Please help me with this. Thanks in advance.

Install the drivers as part of the package and change the advertised shortcut to the real exe of the package. I mean which will launch the application.

Add the drivers to the main installation. If someone need them, then are already installed or if no one need them, is not a problem if are already installed.

Have you thought about just extracting the Drivers and injecting/installing them yourself as part of the package? It’s obvious you need them anyway, so no harm in just automating it.
