how to gather software licenses from computers

Hi,

I am looking for a way to gather computer software licenses.

Software like office, adobe acrobat, crystal reports and Camtasia.

Is there an automated way of doing this?

thanks

  • There are products like Belarc advisor and Lansweeper to gather licenses but would need to test, they may not recognize all your software you want to get this info on. - SMal.tmcc 5 years ago

There is no automated way to do this, since every software has a different way to handle the licenses.
Some (like Windows or Office) can be found in the registry.
Some are found in a license file in the folder of the software.

The license asset module of the appliance works different. You enter the number of avaiable licenses and it tracks which system has the software installed.
