How to find SNMP devices?

Quick overview of our current setting on the K1000.

Version: 6.4.120822
SNMP Monitoring: Enabled
SNMP String: Set to Default

1. SNMP Credentials
  • Type: SNMPv1/v2c
  • Community Stings: Public
2. Discovery Schedules
  • Authenticated [SNMP]: Selected
  • IP Range set
  • DNS Lookup: Set to the IP of the device I am searching for.
  • SNMP: Full Walk is selected, Credentials are set for SNMPv1/v2c.

The scan will not find the SNMP device, which in this case is a printer. I checked the printer settings to confirm SNMP is enabled and the community string is set to public. If I go back to the discovery schedule and just search by DNS and ping only, then the device is found.

If I use another program to find SNMP devices, the scan will find the printer with no issue.
