How to add an entry in setup.ini embedded in setup.exe

Hi
I am using Installsheild 12. I want to add an entry in setup.ini file embedded in setup.exe. The entry should be located under [startup] section.

[Startup]
InstallGuid={916A63DA-C765-4CBC-A859-CAB6629EC}
I have seen a link similar to this. http://knowledge.macrovision.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=Q107253&sliceId
But it allows only for modifying an existing key. Not alloowing to insert a new key.
Is there any way to do this?
If any one knows about this please help.

Thanks
Rejani

Whilst we don't like turning people away, have you tried InstallShield's forums? http://community.installshield.com/forumdisplay.php?f=211

Hello Rejani,

Reading the Macrovision article at the link you posted seems to imply that the utility can be used to add (as well as modify setup.ini parameters (if I read it correctly). The following line is from the article.

The example below adds the value MYPROP="Test" to the CmdLine key of the StartUp section.

Alternatively, have you looked at the documentation regarding using the /ig parameter to setup.exe - this might be a method you can use to add/alter the InstallGUID from the command line instead of modifying the embedded setup.ini.

Regards,

Spartacus
