I have always thought of Beyond Compare as just a graphical diff... so I guess you can create a backup copy of whatever file you were interested, make a change, and then compare the newest edition of that file with the backup.

Agree, I don't think there's any way of comparing before and after, as the comparison is done when you select the 2nd folder to compare.
I always do as muebel, create a backup and compare the updated version with the backup. - andemats 11 years ago
