How do I run a specific managed installation from within a task chain?

I have created a task chain that I would like to run a script followed by a managed installation.  With the script I am able to select the script from a drop down menu.  Managed installations does not allow me to select a specific listing from my managed installations.  Instead, it says "System Inventory task will be triggered to fire off Managed Installations.".  The script deploys successfully but I have not been able to figure out how this system inventory task could fire off the managed installation I would like deployed.

the step of the task chain does an inventory (or better: runs a c:\program files (x86)\quest\kace\runkbot 6 0) which installs the MI which need to be installed (added to the system or label etc)

  • I don't understand how the inventory task knows that a specific computer needs a specific managed installation or how to give it this information. I've added a computer to the deployment list for both the task chain and the managed installation and this doesn't seem to be working. - Nolan_Evans 4 years ago

Why not create a script that deploys the managed installation. This has long been a technique to get a managed install to run closer to a schedule. You can then add that script to your task chain.
