Well I've only briefly looked at WISE .. i use installshield but they looked fairly similiar...
In installshield, you can mark the component as Permanent or Shared - neither of those is uninstalled (even on rollback)- I would have to believe there is something very close to that with wise... I wish i could tell you how to simply edit the MSI with ORCA but i don't know what the proper property value would be off the top of my head.

Hi Chig,
Its pretty much easy.Just go to the Windows Install Editor, go to the Execute Deffered Script page , in this you will find "Remove Folders" tag .Just comment the action , it will not remove the folder which are installed or run time created.
The second way is you can mark the folders as "leave installed while uninstallation" in folder table.

Be careful gmorgan618, when you mark the component as "shared" it only increments the reference counter for that component. When the counter hits zero, it's still going to pull the component off.
Marking it as "permanent" will work though. Also, you could wipe out the GUID on the component. That will also abandon it.
