How do I set a default profile using a Kace scripted install for Win7?

I have 2 user states; one is from the profile used to setup the system and the administrator account.

One post stated to copy the dat file from the profile I created to the default profile. When I logged on as a new user; I received the error; temporary profile created .

Copying the ntuser.dat file should do the trick, however, did you copy that file while logged into that account or from a different account.  You do not want to copy the file while it is in use and locked.

You can also look into using RT7Lite to make custom media to deploy with.  It has some ability to customize user accounts, etc.

Just in my experience - I abonded using the default profile after you could no longer just copy it locally starting with Vista. After many headaches and failures trying to use the Copy Profile parameter via the unattend.xml file I just found other means to do what I wanted via GPO (gp preferences are very handy for setting defaults) and a few scripts.

Having said that - this is the route you need to go:
