how do I complete a process

HI


I have created a process which uses an appropriate schema to capture the ticket information, How ever when the process is complete and I wish to close the parent ticket it

the manual says

I get the option to cancel the process but not to complete it. is there an obvious reason why this is so.

If the ticket is not assigned to you, you will not be able to complete the process. Once you have assigned the process to you you'll get the 'Complete Process' option on the dropdown menu.
