HKCR\.0

Who knows what this key means HKCR\.0. Seen it a couple of times and seems this occurs only when an application has been installed earlier.

It could be a file extension. Some applications use .0. I really can't imagine why a software developer wants to use an unlogical file extension but who am i.

check this http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=.0

Many thanks for the hyperlink. This will be used for my work as from now onwards.

The only times I've seen the HKCR\.0 is when there has been an installation by a previous application to the required registry areas needed by the new application.

Maybe the best approach is to remove the registry entries in the new MSI!!
