My company is thinking of dumping our K1000 and switching to BMC Footprints or some other help desk software.  I have spent a ton of time and effort into the KBOX and I like this system, but I need a compelling reason to keep it other than cost.  Wouldn't managing our systems the same way we do now be impossible?  We are a 100% Dell shop.

Time, effort, and investment are good reasons. Can you point out any features supported with the Kbox that the other system can't do (or can't do as easily)? Pretty much all you can do is plead your Kace (pun inteneded) in these situations and the decision makers are going to do what they want to do.

How about having the ability to tie tickets to machines, users and assets?  Have ticket history along with inventory information in one centralized location....
