It is possible to encounter this if a prerequisite application is not present on the system beforehand. Verify any required elements needed by the program are installed.
This error is also reported as a known issue in InstallShield Express 4.0, "Run-time Error 2920 occurs when repairing a patched project from the Add/Remove Programs applet. This usually happens if the quick patch updates a file that was not part of the original setup."

This error happens when you try to install files added by .mst as uncompressed media and main .msi have attribute "Compressed by Default". Solution in this situation will be adding files to .mst as cabs outside but not uncompressed external.
