Has anyone ever had computers in a smart label not run a script, but if you run them individually they work perfectly?

I have all of our departments broken down into smart labels.

I ran a script that creates a text file with specific information on a network share on each of 7 machines.

When I ran the script with the smart label only 4 of the 7 did what they were told.

When I ran the last 3 by actually entering their name in the "Limit Deployment to Listed Machines" field, two of the missing 3 showed up.

Why would it work one way and not the other for some machines?

I"m curious since it's writing to a network share what user are you running it as? It's a long shot but if you had it running as logged in user, and there were no users logged in at the time it wouldn't work.

  • No sir we've got a domain admin account that we are using.
Again it worked for 4 of the 7 initially, then running the other 3 "individually" got 2 more.

No settings or users were changed between the two runs, the only difference is the smart label and the individual computer list. - AFCUjstrick 10 years ago
