Hard drive health report

Hello,

Is there a canned report in the k1000 that will let me know the health of the hard drive of the computers I have in my inventory. If there isn't one can someone help me create one. Or if there is a better solution I am happy to entertain it. Thanks.

Jenn

  • We are in the process of starting to encrypt our machines using bitlocker. We want to make sure the hard drives of the machines are healthy to prevent any failures. I will try the custom inventory rule. thanks. - jrbartes 8 years ago

Hello,

if you are looking for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the drive you can create a custom inventory rule and then create a custom report based on that.
A custom inventory rule to start with could be the following:
ShellCommandTextReturn(cmd /c wmic diskdrive get status)

Kind regards,

To tell if you can bitlocker a system you can run bdehdcfg -driveinfo.  that can also be turned into a CIR using the command StockTrader listed.
