GPO installation-Security Patch

Hi guys,

I have a problem in pushing a Microsoft patch WindowsXP-KB958644-x86-ENU.exe.
I am running this executable in my Custom action(new exe installed with this product).
return processing-syn ignores exit code
Install exec seq-After InstallFinalize Not Installed condition.

Problem- Whenever the MSI is pushed with group policies it reboots the system and starts the patching. before it completes the patching it allows the user to login. By the time users openup their applications the security patch restarts the PC again. (2 restarts).
I need a solution something like the Security patch should run and complete then reboot then the Log on screen to comeup.

Is this possible?? Please help me out. :-)

Suma

I think you must be pretty unique in a) re-packaging MS hotfixes and then b) pushing them out via GP. Why not let WSUS/WU do its stuff?

I am not aware of those concepts. Could you please let me know websites to refer?

In that case, I suggest you consult urgently with your desktop and server teams.

sumarchana, best of all: WSUS is free... It does require some effort to set up, but over the long run it'll save you lots of time and grief...
