Flash 9.0.28.0

What in the world is wrong with this MSI? It fails when pushed thru SMS only when a user is logged in, but when the workstation is not locked. If a user is logged in, and the PC is locked, it installs.

I have noticed this with 9.0.16.0 too..

Has anyone successfully packaged this software thru SMS successfully?

Let me add that this happens for both active_x msi and the firefox plugin msi..

the msi install log really doesnt point me to any serious issue.. but this has my eye..

Seems that the isscript.msi isn't installed or maybe the InstallShield InstallDriver DCOM Identity is set to The Interactive user instead of The interactive user.

I've tried installing ISScript11.msi on the workstations before having this advertisement run, however the Flash install fails in the same manner. I've also changed the DCOM identity to Launching User instead of Interactive, but Flash changes it back just before run... any more tips? Pleeeease.. this thing is kickin' my a$$!

Try to author a custom action to remove the HKCR\AppID\<{GUID}>\RunAs registry key just before the MsiServerStartup CA.
This will set the Identity to Launching User just before the engine starts.

I use SMS and I have no problem, but I think my package in SMS is probably different.

On the environment tab of the program I have "whether or not a user is logged in" and because of that you have to check "Run with admin rights". The command line I use is: msiexec.exe /q ALLUSERS=2 /i "install_flash_player_active.msi" TRANSFORMS="install_flash_player_active.mst"
In our organisation all machines have to be updated so that is why I choose for per machine installation.

Hope this helps you

Robin
