Failed to create NT service:winerror.h: 87

Hi

I installed the application on the Windows XP SP2 machine but it throws an error : Failed to create NT service:winerror.h: 87

What could be the possible cause?

From winerror.h:// MessageId: ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER
//
// MessageText:
//
// The parameter is incorrect.
//
#define ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER 87L // dderror
This indicates that the CreateService API was called with an incorrect parameter. There are 13 parameters for this API which should make tracking them down something of a challenge.

Is the installation package one of yours or a vendor's?

Sorry...I forgot that this process is like pulling teeth...

Is the installer an MSI? Is it an EXE? Have you captured it into an MSI? Can you log the install and, if so, have you done that? Have you monitored the installer as it executes with a process/file./registry monitor to see exactly what it's trying to do?

Don't forget to use the CODE tag (use the '<%' button)
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
